Movie Monday: Global precedent for GMO contamination?
Today I realized that there is yet another avenue of hope with regards to GMO contamination (as I write that, it hits me, the absurdity that one would need to have hope given the lack of knowledge we have about future fallout…) And that is legislation. The video today is a story along similar lines as the 2004 Monsanto vs Percy Schmeiser case. This time, though, the person suing is Steve Marsh, the farmer who’s farm was declared non-organic after his neighbour’s gmo crop blew onto his fields. Both farmers are being backed by the opposing sides of the issue – the former organic farmer by the local organic organizations and community; the gmo grower by the industrial farming organizations.
There is even a way to contribute to their cause, click here to access their bank information and further details. Now, check out his story.
