OUR Ecovillage Would like to Introduce Satiya and Village Heart Yoga

After many years practicing bodybuilding, aerobics and dance Satiya moved back to yoga with the intention to relieve work stress and back pain. The transformative effects of this ancient discipline on her modern life revealed that yoga is more than pain relief and a popular form of exercise. She discovered that Yoga is a way of being, seeing and experiencing the world; of which we are each an integral and connected part.

Yoga enabled Satiya to build connection to her own self while letting go of stereotypes and judgment she held about her authentic personhood.  This exciting clarity supported her return to formal studies and a passion for deepening her knowledge through Yoga Therapy Training at Pacific Rim, College of Complementary & Integrative Medicine in Victoria, B.C..

Now after study and teaching in Victoria and at O.U.R Ecovillage in Shawnigan, Satiya combines the client-customized physical postures and a form of one-on-one counseling that is Yoga Therapy.  With these methods you are invited to find your way through life’s crisis or to move into a more genuine and powerful form of yourself while letting go of past stories.  Satiya guides practices in Yin and Hatha Flow style of yoga. She is trained in Yanumoja yoga, which believes strongly that the mind, body and spirit connection comes through looking first inside one’s self.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for inside you won’t find it out there in the world. You must first love yourself. Whether it be an emotional, physical, mental or spiritual area, practicing yoga with Satiya may be the powerful resource that helps you find a path to clarity, comfort, gratitude and grace.
