2015 BUILDING AND INFRASTRUCTURE UPDATE
admin November 6, 2015 Uncategorised 0
Artist builders extra-ordinaire have made this year another year of major achievements! OUR Zero Mile Meal Eatery is pretty much buttoned up and now we are going the next step with OUR Federal Gov’t partnership creating a ‘closed-loop’ demonstration project out of the greywater/rainwater/
blackwater/ground water/urinals/and compost! We are looking for tech folks to work with us on OUR information technology components as we move into being fully Livestreamed in this incredible “Eat Your Words Classroom”. Additionally we have been the beneficiary of 100 solar panels in order to have the Commons start to become net providers of electricity and to begin selling back to BC Hydro. With OUR 4 homes underway the ‘Affordable Housing Cluster’ has a number of families assigned and is ready for next families to begin their HearthKeeper process early in the new year. Next we put wheelchair access and decks around all OUR classrooms – and finsihed bathrooms which are wheelchair accessible as well. So many improvements, so much more access, and as always we try and do this as a most artistic endevour. If you fancy yourself as an artist builder or with some skills in the trades let us know if you wish to jump into any ‘skill-trader’ time with OUR team and contact Chad from OUR building team.
