Hello from OUR new General Manager
Two months have now passed since the departure of Rick Juliasson to the mystical cloud forests of Costa Rica, where he is, no doubt, at this very moment bungy jumping over the warm waterfalls near Monteverde Friends School. Though his big shoes still remain, I’ve been gradually learning the ropes on OUR systems, culture and programming and partaking of the wonderful convergence of community, (perma) culture and consciousness that pervades this place.
Sustainable energy, food, and hospitality, and commerce converge at OUR, along with so many other dynamics of community living and human becoming, which have always held my keenest interest. I hope to bring my experience in sustainable business practices to OUR, as well as an open mind for learning, as we transition to the next level of cooperative ownership. At the same time I am mindful that “business” systems and structures should not in any way impede, but rather support the human heart connections which are so integral to the experience at OUR Ecovillage.
Some of the questions that are on my mind… How can we tap into the distributed wisdom, passion and will of OUR community and accomplish all the beautiful things that our hearts tell us is possible? How can we foster the highest creative individuality, reverence and responsibility for the world and each other within OUR activities? How can OUR really meet YOUR needs?
I’m still new here, so please feel free to drop me a line (management [at] ourecovillage.org) to introduce yourself, share your passion and ideas on how we might align ourselves towards OUR highest future potential.
