Event Details
This year we are pairing up with the Cowichan Valley Wine & Culinary Festival to celebrate our decision to make O.U.R. Ecovillage the first GE Free Zone on Vancouver Island. This declaration will be included within the covenant that we are using to protect the land and all of its activities into the indefinite future.
To celebrate, we have created a special event called the 2011 Insight into GMOs Symposium to give the whole community an opportunity to learn more about the current food system and become informed foodies! All proceeds and donations from the weekend will go toward creating a covenant on the land and protecting this community resource forever.
Local Food Menu
This year’s menu is a delectable combination of Local food, Zero Mile produce, Organics with both Omnivore and Vegetarian options, all Non-GMO of course! Take a look at the 2011 Wine & Culinary Menu (pdf) for more the complete deconstruction of dinner, we’re sure you will be satisfied.
As you indulge in our delicious meal, enjoy scintillating entertainment provided by Robin Massey and the middle eastern dance troup from Shawnigan Lake.
Detailed Schedule
You can pick and choose the activities you would like to attend for the weekend, or go ahead and register for a day long access pass and even the whole weekend.
