‘SUSTAINING OUR LEARNING’

Come explore and deepen ways to join together in helping each other in leading spirited, engaged
and meaningful lives.

This weekend brings together youth, and supporters, from all facets of the wider community. Whether it is your school group, a community group, alumni, Universities/Colleges, or friends/family….there is something for everyone in this incredible weekend journey into “Sustaining OUR Learning”.

Beginning in 2006 OUR Youth Convergence has been held every fall… and often every spring, becoming a groundswell of vibrant youth dialogue, hands-on learning activities, expressive arts, campfire circles, facilitated workshops, dance party, and every conceivable programming element that relates to sustainable living! This weekend has become a showcase of youth programs and is often a bridge to next trainings or projects which young people engage with through the wider community…..’meaning making’ and ‘finding passion in your path’ is a constant theme in feedback after folks attend the Youth and Community Convergence.

As Mike Geselbracht, founder of the YCC, would say:
“Dealing in groups of people is commonplace in our daily lives. Despite this, the diversity of perspectives that each person brings can sometimes challenge us to clearly communicate, build trust and collaborate effectively. Our world is loudly calling for us to live in harmony, so finding good ways to come together and deepen our connection with our community, our planet, and ourselves is what this convergence seeks to explore. Participants will be imparted skills to move through barriers from connection, and to build community capacity. This convergence aims to bring together diverse groups of youth and supportive community members in inclusive ways, to increase our skills of co-empowerment and sustainability. These skills promote trust and collaboration which honour our individual uniqueness as well as our embeddeness in larger communities and bioregions”.

Step in to co-creative space for this community program – you might want to propose a workshop or theme, bring yourself or a large group/class/school. Each YCC is crafted by those who will be attending as we are all teachers and we are all learners…

Please bring your ideas forward. If you are not technically a youth (ages 13-30) then we will take you into the process as a community supporter. We are all leaders in our own way.

We strive to provide healthy, organic and GE-free meals. Please see our Food Manifesto for more about food at OUR Ecovillage.
