There are many ways to share and support the vision of O.U.R ECOVILLAGE - from volunteering a couple of hours to living full-time on site as a Hearth Keeper Steward. The O.U.R. phenomenon is continually being created by the varied contributions of many, many people.
Volunteer: If you would like to volunteer at O.U.R. Ecovillage, find out more here.
Become a Staff Intern/Practicum Student/Co-Op Student:
Internships that focus on a general staff position, or a student position are a possibility for those who want to gain leadership experience within the Ecovillage model. Interns are requested to cover their living expenses ($500 per month covers room and board), and will be required to volunteer as per an agreed contract in exchange for the basic mentorship provided by O.U.R. Staff.
Interns may be involved in the following ways:
1. Project development
2. Teaching assistance
3. Curriculum writing
4. Co-op development and administration
5. Various other negotiated projects
To begin the Staff Intern process, we request that you complete and submit a Volunteer Agreement.
Facilitate an Event, Workshop, or Program:
If you have skills to offer the community and would like to host a workshop, event, or program at O.U.R. Ecovillage, please submit a written proposal and the following to documents: Facilitator Guidelines (pdf), and Facilitator Agreement (pdf).
A non-refundable administrative fee will be required prior to your program/event/workshop. You will also need to negotiate facility rental fees, if applicable (see Facility Rentals). We suggest you set your participant costs to cover these overhead expenses and your own professional fees.
Become a Member or Investor:
Join the growing group of people who are making shared ownership of the land and projects a reality. An important next step is the development of housing and yet we need to transform the property ownership from single residential to a multi-stakeholder member ownership model (as per O.U.R. rezoning) before that can happen.
This now provides you with the opportunity to continue your relationship with O.U.R. ECOVILLAGE in a variety of exciting and accessible new ways:
a) RESIDENT STATUS MEMBERSHIP
Building a role in the organization which will facilitate you being a full time permanent resident/steward onsite.
b) SUSTAINABILITY INVESTOR (Non-resident)
Membership share which invests in the overall development of the 25 acre model demonstration sustainable village.
c) O.U.R. CONTRIBUTOR
Cash and in-kind donations which are valued through tax receipt
(including Bequests).
Please see Join O.U.R. for more on how to become a member or investor.
This could see you included in the continuing design and development of O.U.R. ECOVILLAGE..!
