Become a Staff Intern/Practicum Student/Co-Op Student:

Internships that focus on a general staff position, or a student position are a possibility for those who want to gain leadership experience within the Ecovillage model.  Interns are requested to cover their living expenses ($500 per month covers room and board), and will be required to volunteer as per an agreed contract in exchange for the basic mentorship provided by O.U.R. Staff.
Interns may be involved in the following ways:

  1. Project development
  2. Teaching assistance
  3. Curriculum writing
  4. Co-op development and administration

Facilitate an Event, Workshop, or Program:

If you have skills to offer the community and would like to host a workshop, event, or program at O.U.R. Ecovillage, please submit a written proposal which includes the attached info for Facilitator Guidelines, and Facilitator Agreement.

A non-refundable administrative fee will be required prior to your program/event/workshop.  You will also need to negotiate facility rental fees, if applicable (see Facility Rentals).  We suggest you set your participant costs to cover these overhead expenses and your own professional fees.

Become a Member:

We are now moving into an auspicious new phase of O.U.R. development and are organizing a group who will share ownership of the land and projects.  An important next step is the development of housing (9 residences slated for the spring 2007) and yet we need to transform the property ownership from single residential to a multi-stakeholder member ownership model (as per OUR rezoning) before that can happen.

This now provides you with the opportunity to continue your relationship with O.U.R. ECOVILLAGE in a variety of exciting and accessible new ways:

a)       RESIDENT STATUS MEMBERSHIP
Building a role in the organization which will facilitate you being a full time permanent resident/steward onsite.

b)       SUSTAINABILITY INVESTOR (Non-resident)
Membership share which invests in the overall development of the 25 acre model demonstration sustainable village.

c)       O.U.R. CONTRIBUTOR
Cash and in-kind donations which are valued through tax receipt
(including Bequests).

**please contact us at our@pacificcoast.net to verify membership application process and further discuss the options which may be a means to have you included in the design and development of OUR ECOVILLAGE.
