About Myra

Myra Canan Yaman is a Holistic Nutrition Practitioner, Food Consultant, and Personal Chef at Terrain Within Nutrition and Wellness.

Myra studied Culinary Arts at PICA (Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts) in Vancouver and Holistic Nutrition at PRC (Pacific Rim College) in Victoria. She embraces both of her trainings and applies them synergistically in her practice while addressing wellness and healing.

She enjoys simple things like a nice book, a friendly chat, a warm smile, her rescue dog and her backyard garden, which she calls her “edibles, medicinals and enjoyables”. She cherishes “not so simple” things as well; like connections, belongings, nourishing traditions, cycles and flows, and human body and mind. Multi-dimensionality of food, many faces it dons, has been a subject that she love sharing, talking about and listening to.

Myra works with individuals of all ages and genders in a variety of health conditions. She uses power of food and nutrition to address autoimmunity, cancer care and prevention, metabolic health, hormonal health including thyroid and adrenals, liver health and elimination support, and mental and emotional wellbeing.

Land acknowledgment

OUR ECOVILLAGE is situated on unceded Indigenous lands. The Coast Salish Peoples are the guardians of these lands and waters where we live, work, pray, and play. Quw’utsun (Cowichan) is a historical place of gathering and Na’tsa’ maht Shqwaluwun/”one-heart one-mind” for many Indigenous peoples.

OUR ECOVILLAGE is committed to regenerate land and all ecosystems while acknowledging and respecting Indigenous knowledge that ensures thriving for all beings; we call this Permaculture.

OUR ECOVILLAGE is dedicated to continuously educating ourselves and our communities about the history and peoples of OUR bio-region, to assist in decolonization and re-villaging as a path towards peacemaking, from local to global.
