It’s bright and early Thursday morning at OUR (One United Resource) ECOVILLAGE, and all OUR on-land hands are actively preparing for your arrival as participant in OUR Educational CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Box program.

At the top of OUR driveway on Baldy Mountain Road, you’ll see the CSA Educational Food Box Slow Drive Thru sign welcome you beyond the new natural building site of our cob tail of “Holgarrrr the Dragon“. It’s strawberried-direction guides you to drive the gravel road into OUR small, but mighty community. This entrance speaks to a very special project we’re buildin as part of OUR 2020 visioning titled, “The H’Art of Community: Awakening the Dragon” at the mouth of conscious experimentation and slow food movement. One of OUR co-creators and village interns will greet you from a 6-foot distance, while welcoming you under our white tent and connection space. Under these conditions, we can sustain the safe delivery of your CSA box with a smile. Both Lifestyle and Veggie boxes are filled with nutritional and educational surprises, determined by the land and seasonal bounty.

We believe everyone who lives here as stewards and gardeners at the heart of this 25 acre farm. Every active member of OUR family tree shares roots in this community earth, practicing their unique gifts in the spirit of co-creation and service to each other and YOU, through OUR ever-growing initiatives like the CSA program.

As the most recent villager welcomed into this heart-land, I am teaming with questions. This Thursday June 25th marks my fourth day free of mask and gloves after dedicating two weeks of discovering this active community from afar.
Like observation is the first of twelve permaculture principles (described by David Holmgren in his book Permaculture: Principles and Pathways Beyond Sustainability (2002) I share in this pivotal stage in cycle, in witness to this land at the meeting grounds of the Cowichan, Malahat, and Sooke people, and partnership with OUR on-site and online community.

From this place I: Gnomadic Rootz, G.N.O.M.E (get nature on me everywhere) hold my purposeful truths as Connector in OUR Earthly alliance and explore what twenty years of community living creates.
In teaming up with OUR ECOVILLAGE, I share with you my gnomes’ perspective into this budding partnership in an effort to build another bridge of connection to wherever you live. Alongside the wisdom of the Earth, OUR Elders and on-land and online neighbours, I welcome you to get curious along with me and dive deeper into this mosaic of co-creation for the revillaging of One United Resource and experimentation site.
