A Note From OUR Team

Hello OUR CSA Members!  It was a great pleasure to connect with you all last week.  We miss having OUR friends on the land and having you come through, even if it was for a brief moment, was such a treat for us all.

As we reflected this week on how the pick up process unfolded,  we saw the need to put in a space for people to get out of their cars and spend a moment connecting with us and to the land. We had thought it would be a safe connection zone, but what emerged is that it is a sacred connection zone that so many of us are needing at this time.

So many have had their hearts and hands on this land, and so much beauty has been created through the collaboration of so many to make OUR ECOVILLAGE what it is today, and we are so grateful for all of the great people and their contributions over the last 20 years. We look forward to the hopefully near future when we can offer programs on land and connect with all of OUR friends and family through on-site educational programs.

In the meantime,  we are pouring our love and our energy into the gardens and growing food that will bring you health, joy, learning, and deeper connection to our beloved earth and OUR local food system.

Just a reminder, please return your large bin when you come by this week to pick up your box.  In addition, the supply chain for egg cartons has been disrupted due to COVID-19, so we request that you bring in any extra egg cartons that you have available. Lastly, we will be using compostable containers for some of our items in future boxes. We encourage you to research your local waste management service and compost these items if you can. We hope that you enjoy this week’s box!

Love and gratitude from OUR ECOVILLAGE

Compostable means that a product is capable of breaking down into natural elements in a compost environment. Because it’s broken down into its natural elements it causes no harm to the environment. The breakdown process usually takes about 90 days.

Land acknowledgment

OUR ECOVILLAGE is situated on unceded Indigenous lands. The Coast Salish Peoples are the guardians of these lands and waters where we live, work, pray, and play. Quw’utsun (Cowichan) is a historical place of gathering and Na’tsa’ maht Shqwaluwun/”one-heart one-mind” for many Indigenous peoples.

OUR ECOVILLAGE is committed to regenerate land and all ecosystems while acknowledging and respecting Indigenous knowledge that ensures thriving for all beings; we call this Permaculture.

OUR ECOVILLAGE is dedicated to continuously educating ourselves and our communities about the history and peoples of OUR bio-region, to assist in decolonization and re-villaging as a path towards peacemaking, from local to global.
